Emily Cottam is a promising young mezzo-soprano hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah. She looks forward to joining Nashville Opera as a 2021 Mary Ragland Emerging Artist, where she will be performing as Giovanna in Rigoletto, Tisbe (covering Cenerentola) in La Cenerentola, and Cherubino in Davies’ education outreach show, The Three Little Pigs. In 2019-2020, Ms. Cottam was a Resident Artist at Tri-Cities Opera.

Cottam has been an Emerging Artist with Seagle Music Colony and has performed with AIMS in Graz, Austria. Other recent performances include the title role in Handel’s Serse, Street Singer in Bernstein’s MASS, and the title role in Marie Begins.
